Ah Dollskill , the online store that caters for the misfits and anyone who isn’t afraid to say fuck your social standards! Why fit in when you can standout? and no, I am not trying to be trendy or cool by making this statement. This is something I have always believed. With the rise of instagram and the “Kardashion/Jenner” effect our generation has been fixated on looking like carbon copies of the famous family. Now hold on! before you start grabbing your pitchforks, I actually like the Kardashians and Jenners. Whether you would like to admit it or not they have had a huge impact on pop culture.
I will admit I do prefer them in small doses and maybe I am a bit annoyed that they coined the wearing tshirts as dresses , underwear as outerwear as trends they started . We have been doing it for years but this is only acceptable now..oh! and in the 80’s. Ha! the power of celebrity.
This is not a rant (why does it feel like one??)
This brings me back to the wearing dresses as t-shirts topic. I did a post last year on this and it seems that this trend isn’t going away anytime soon. So after we did the cutouts ,distressed look, adding frills what more can we possibly do to joosh up a t-shirt? Well , Jaded London x Granted made this awesome split tee.
I spotted this awesome t-shirt on the Dollskill website and its sooooo fucking cool. Unfortunately, this isn’t available here in South Africa (boo!!) but recently spotted a similiar t-shirt at Mr Price menswear.
Are you feeling this trend? is this a vibe you are totally feeling or issit a complete miss?
