Fetish. A word that is associated with a certain type of lifestyle, that would make your mother yank out her bible and ask you to repent.Like many , I too grew up in a very christian home. Sex isn’t something you openly discuss with your parents. It’s just not a topic you can have around the dinner table or any setting for that matter.
Maybe things have changed since then? but that was my upbringing. It was only last year when I had this sexual liberation ( as I would like to call it). Even though I wore lingerie as outer wear in my teen years ( I loved the 80’s ) I still didn’t venture out of my “safe” zone.
I will always reference 2016 as the year of change. The year I found my voice and the confidence to explore things that for years only existed in my mind.
Post-fetish looks are slowly making its way to the forefront of fashion. And even though this has been worn by many celebrities in the past,it’s only accepted by the public now. My love affair for post-fetish looks began after seeing designs from Vex on Styled to Rock. It was then when I developed a love for latex wear. I found myself more drawn to this specific style though not generally accepted outside of the bedroom it remained very taboo. The stigma attached to latex and fetish wear made me even more determined to have something made. Before I knew it I was on the search for latex designer.
I discovered Simone Dumas by accident. I decided to take a chance and mail her. Meeting her was something I won’t ever forget. We came up with a few designs. Simone is a true proffessional. After getting to know me and my aesthetic she designed a dress that suited me perfectly.
Simone , You are a true legend. The time I spent with you not only inspired me but fed my soul. You gave me something I struggled with… confidence. Your beautiful designs, craftmanship and love for what you do left me in complete awe. Wearing your dress made me feel so empowered. For that, I thank you.
